Australian label SONG FOR THE MUTE was founded in 2010 by lifelong friends Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty. Developing fabrics from artisanal mills in Italy and Japan, the label has a textile-centric approach that sets the stage for their intimate, story-driven collections. SONG FOR THE MUTE merges aesthetics from the east and west, blending deconstructionist sensibilities with traditional garment forms. Their unique perspectives, distinctively bold characters and elegantly-executed basics create a refined and cohesive wardrobe.
